The PBA selection squad will be coached by coach Franz Pumaren of Air21 Express and will feature superstar players from different PBA teams. The lineup includes Chris Tiu and Paul Lee of Rain or Shine, Peter June Simon, Mark Barroca, and Joe Devance of San Mig Coffee, Cyrus Baguio, Calvin Abueva and JVee Casio of Alaska, KG Canaleta of Air 21, Jay Washington of GlobalPort, Alex Cabagnot and Arwind Santos of Petron, and Chris Ellis of Barangay Ginebra San Miguel.
Kazakhstan, who has an impressive record under their belt in the years they participated in the FIBA Asia Championship, will have a first crack on the Philippine national team on the 26th. The team from central Asia will banner the 6-foot 0-inches Jerry Johnson as their naturalized player for the tourney.
